SharePoint can generate URLs over 255 characters, which many tools cannot support, including common ones such as Microsoft Office.  Fortunately, some complex URLs can be shortened, which is what this page does.  In the "Input" area below, paste a SharePoint 3.0 URL.  It must point to a view such as "All Items" or "Explorer View."  It cannot be a URL directly to a document, which generally cannot be shortened.  Click the "Parse" button.  Click "Copy to Clipboard", then paste as needed.  If you have any trouble, email your URL to me.
